Program Interns

Monica Dillard, Intern

Monica Dillard became the Outreach Intern at San Diego Coastkeeper in March 2008. She assists in coordinating Coastkeeper’s beach cleanups, provides support at various outreach events and is currently assisting with the planning of California Coastal Cleanup Day held in September. Monica graduated from Revelle College at UCSD with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.

 

Lillian Luong, Intern

Lillian Luong became an intern at San Diego Coastkeeper in March 2003. She is currently managing Coastal Snapshot Day and World Water Monitoring Day. Lillian became involved with Coastkeeper by volunteering for the Citizen Water Monitoring Program in 2002 through the UCSD CalPIRG program. Lillian graduated from Muir College at the University of California, San Diego, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Systems: Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution.

 

Stanley Tran, Intern

Stanley Tran began assisting with the Citizen Watershed Monitoring Program at Coastkeeper in January of 2007. He provides support in the lab as well as in the field by preparing the equipment, obtaining field samples, and teaching volunteers proper field sampling techniques. Stanley graduated from Warren Collage at UCSD with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry.

 

Emily Welborn, Intern

Emily Welborn is the Marine Conservation Initiative Intern with the San Diego Coastkeeper for the Summer of 2008. She will be assisting with the implementation of Marine Protected Areas in southern California through the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative. Emily holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Chemistry from Whitman College and is currently a master's candidate at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara.
