San Diego Coastkeeper

Law & Policy Clinic Campaigns

Growing demands for energy production must be balanced by environmental safeguards. San Diego Coastkeeper monitors energy producers such as the Duke Energy South Bay Power Plant (SBPP) not only to assure compliance with current regulations, but to press regulatory agencies for upgrades in environmental safeguards. Coastkeeper is also working at the binational level with environmental organizations in Baja California to protect our shared coastline from potential negative impacts of proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities along the Baja California coastline.
