SAN DIEGO, CA – California Coastkeeper Alliance (CCKA) commends Governor Schwarzenegger's reappointment of experienced and dedicated public servants to the state's regional water quality control boards. CCKA particularly applauds the Governor's reappointment of Daniel Press (Central Coast Regional Water Board), and David Nahai (Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board).
"Dr. Daniel Press uses his wealth of scientific knowledge to improve the health of Central Coast waterways," commented Linda Sheehan, the Executive Director of California Coastkeeper Alliance. "His environmental science credentials and knowledge were particularly critical in the development of the Central Coast's groundbreaking program to control agricultural runoff."
"The Governor underscored his commitment to clean water with his reappointment of David Nahai to the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board," said Tracy Egoscue, CCKA Board Member and Santa Monica Baykeeper. "Mr. Nahai has regularly gone above and beyond his public service duties, putting in much of his own time and energy to ensure that the waters of the Los Angeles area are protected for ourselves and future generations."
"Today Governor Schwarzenegger has taken great strides towards fulfulling his commitment to clean water in the state of California," added Bruce Reznik, President of the California Coastkeeper Alliance.
