Health & Economic Impacts of Beach Pollution

A study performed by researchers at UCLA and Stanford found that as many as 1.5 million people who flock to Southern California beaches each year are sickened by bacterial pollution, resulting in millions of dollars in public healthcare costs.

Water Quality Reports

In recognition of a decade of coastal protection, SD Coastkeeper released a State of the Coast report that assess how the San Diego region has fared on water quality and coastal protection issues over the past decade, and what steps must now be taken to ensure a safe, healthy coast for the future.

The Report included Coastkeeper's annual San Diego City Council Clean Water Report Card, an independent analysis prepared by Strategic Community Consulting of the voting record of each City Council member over the past year on issues impacting the health of local waters and coastal habitat.
