World Water Monitoring Day 2007

In partnership with the members of the San Diego Citizen Watershed Monitoring Consortium (www.sdcwmc. org), San Diego Coastkeeper will launch the 2006 edition of World Water Monitoring Day (www.worldwatermonitoringday.org) between September 18th and October 18th.

The event celebrates the passage of the Clean Water Act in the U.S. and seeks to promote awareness of water quality issues around the world, as well as student involvement. Last year Coastkeeper and its partners organized a regionwide event in both San Diego and Tijuana with the participation of nearly a thousand k-12 students, teachers, scientists and government offi cials from both sides of the border.

This year, training, transportation and free monitoring kits will be available to teachers throughout the region. Monitoring kits and space are limited. For more details please visit the San Diego Coastkeeper web site.
